I love Fall!

Sunday was the first day of Fall and it made me so happy!  Speaking of Sunday, here a couple of pictures of my handsome mini-Matt after church.

Anyways, Matt told me that a girl at his work said that she hated Fall.  Who hates Fall?  He told her that his wife and her would not be friends!  She actually said she doesn't like the scents of Fall things.  What!??!!

I have my décor inside and out and just tonight, Charlie read some Halloween stories.  We don't have a costume yet.  Over the last couple weeks, we've had some delicious soups and chili for dinner!  We've been watching some football around here. :-)  Charlie likes to watch the games and he likes to point out when the players "lay down" on the field.  I guess he thinks getting tackled is lazy.  He loves to find Coach Beamer.  He got to meet him this summer and it's really made an impression on him.

We've been playing outside a lot.
I love this weather.  Charlie loves to play with his basketball goal, baseball, "blue truck" (aka powerwheels 4-wheeler) and tricycle.
He also is happy to just run around and find sticks!
Sometimes it turns into an issue though when Wally wants the stick.

This is a wonderful time of year and we have a lot planned over the next several weekends.  Our weekends are going to be busy through the end of October!  Tonight, we got to go to Family Fun Day at church.  I didn't take pictures but Charlie got to play in the bounce house, have his face painted for the first time (he picked out a football) and get a balloon.  I would say that all of those things made it a success!

Happy Fall Y'all!

So cute!

Tonight after I tucked Charlie in, Matt was manning the monitor.  We typically have to go in at least once to get him asleep these days.  Anyways, he started praying.

He said:

"Thank you for Mommy.  Thank you for Daddo.  Thank you for Wally.  Thank you for birthday cake. Amen."

First Day of Montessori Preschool

Vacation is over and it was a tough transition for us all this morning.  Charlie had an exciting day facing him.  He is starting preschool.
He wasn't excited when we talked about it last week but yesterday it started getting a little more exciting as we worked on an activity to take with us.
It was our first bit of homework.  They are creating a book with pictures of their homes in it for Geography.  I wanted this activity to be all about him and he got really into it.  Here's a bad picture of the finished project:

It's crazy to think 2 years ago, on 8/8/2011, he was just starting at the same place
and now he is running around like he owns the place, making coffee with the director and learning so much!

TO: Grammie, Papa, Mim and Pops

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDPARENTS DAY
WE LOVE YOU!!!!

Beach 2013

We made it home safely after a nice week in Hilton Head.  It was our first time going and I think we'll be back again.  It was wonderful.

The surf is definitely not rough and more like a lake than an ocean.  Perfect for a 2 year old!  It's not as touristy as other beaches and the house we stayed at was amazing.  We weren't right on the ocean but we had a some great views and were only a short walk away.
    Wally enjoyed the views too!

Charlie thoroughly enjoyed his time.  He loved the pool,
staying up way past his bedtime (9:30ish most nights),

getting attention from so many family members,

Funny story: Charlie saw Uncle Rob for the first time and he said "He looks like Pops!".  I tried to explain that he was Pops' brother but anytime Charlie saw Uncle Rob and Pops wasn't around, he always needed to make a comment about Pops.

the beach,
I wish we could take credit for this sand castle!
the ocean,
and playing in the sand.

He thought the sand was dirty but building castles was pretty cool.  Charlie got to fly a Kite thanks to my Uncle Rob.

Matt and I definitely feel that this was a memorable week with Charlie.  I loved every second and feel that I did a pretty good job capturing a few moments.  We went on bike rides
and even rode over to find the playground equipment at the park closeby.
We also got a chance to sit back and relax which is just what we desired to do.
We had such a nice time with our family.
Meredith, Drew and Uncle Brian got to go kayaking but Matt and I just weren't able to fit it this trip.

I miss my morning walk and these views.
