"Grandmas hold our tiny hands for just a little while.....but our hearts forever."

This ones for you Grandma.  It still doesn't feel real to me but I know for sure, I will miss my Grandmother immensely.

My sister used the above quote after Grandma had passed.  While Grandma held my hand shorter than I would have liked, she has proudly been there for

all of my bigger accomplishments (This is from college graduation.),

my wedding,

many birthdays,

every year at Christmas,

and sending cards for every major (and non-major) holiday for all 29 years of my life.

I know she will always be one of my biggest fans.

Grandma knew the definition of unconditional love and she set the bar very high bar as an example for me to live up to.

I actually spoke at the funeral and while I had more to say, I said what I wrote up above. It was an honor to do so and to get to say such good things about someone who I love dearly and whole heartedly believe is one of the kindest, most loving, beautiful christians on earth. I wish I could have her back healthy but that's not possible.

Here is a picture of her and Grandpa.

And some pictures with my sister and with my cousin and aunt...

I will miss my Grandma very much and have fond memories of spending weeks during the summers with my grandparents in Berea, Kentucky, my grandmother and mom cooking my favorite birthday dinner (country steak and gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, and apple pie in the place of cake), going on trips together (We went to Paris after I graduated high school.). I am thankful for the memories and for such a loving grandmother.

While this past weekend was difficult, it was also nice to see my family, whom I adore.  Below are some pictures from this past weekend.

Grandpa put the flag half-staff.  I thought that was so sweet.

My grandpa grows roses and has beautiful flower and a beautiful yard.  He definitely takes pride in his yard and flowers.  He brought my Grandma roses while she was in hospice and they used some of his roses for the flowers for the casket.  They were so pretty.  Here are some of his roses.

Here are some pictures of the family.

My sister and cousin.

The grandchildren.
The Matney clan.

Sisters.
Aunt and Uncles.

Pictures with their first cousins.
