My favorite time of year. Fall reminds me of VT football, cooler weather, sweaters, and changing leaves.
I love the decorations and have been enjoying my pumpkin scented candles.
The weather isn't cooling down fast enough for me. However, I am enjoying the cooler days when I can wear my sweaters, jeans, and sweatshirts.
I love my mums. Orange is my favorite. Would you have guessed that?
Hope everyone has a nice Halloween!

Meet Wyatt
He's adorable and so sweet. I didn't get too many pictures. Mark has done good about taking a lot of pictures and my flash was a little bright. Plus, I was too busy holding him to take pictures! (BTW, my face is red because I got a little sunburn from the game on Saturday.) The family got to come home today so Matt and I took dinner to them tonight and Mark and Ali, as well as Wyatt, seem to be doing well. Their animals seem to be okay with a baby in the house. Oddly, we all were wondering about the dog, but the cat was more freaked out at first than the dog. We got to see Ali's mom, Momma Toni, as Wyatt will know her, and very much enjoyed our visit. Mark and Ali look like naturals when it comes to this parenting thing.
Hokie and Birthday Fun
This weekend, Matt and I traveled to VT to meet up with my parents and sister. We celebrated birthdays, since Meredith's birthday was this weekend and mine is in November and I probably won't see them again until after I am, ahem, another year older (the big 3-0). We had such a fun time being together.
Friday night, we were exhausted by the time we got to the hotel and were ready for bed. We had a little hotel drama: I must start by saying I picked out our hotel and make a big mistake. Matt and I checked in first and one of the toilets wasn't working. So, we went to try to call front desk and the phone wasn't working. So, we tried from the other hotel room and that phone wasn't working either. So, we walked to the front desk and explained the situation and they immediately said they would switch rooms since they weren't booked. Well, we did that and went off to meet the family while they were eating dinner. We got back to the room and there were bugs in the room. Apparently, that part of the region has a infestation with stink bugs outside and this hotel had them in the rooms. At first, it seemed they were just on the ceilings. It was disgusting and very apparent that my sister wasn't going to get much sleep. So, we turned on the lights so Matt could kill the 20th bug to find them on my side of the bed, on the bed post. Needless to say, I called down to front desk (thankfully, the phone worked in our 2nd set of rooms). They offered our money back and later told Matt they refunded over $3,000 in hotel rooms the prior weekend. So, at midnight, we all loaded our cars up and headed to the hotel across the street. It was such a good decision and we all slept much better in the nicer hotel with more comfy beds and, best of all, with no stink bugs. :-)
Saturday, we had a full day of tailgating. The weather was perfect! The game was good. We saw VT beat Central Michigan. It wasn't much on an exciting game, but I enjoyed seeing the Hokies.
Saturday night, we relaxed in our nice digs at the hotel. We watched football, ate pizza and cupcakes, and played cards.
Sunday, we headed to the Chateau Morrisette winery for some brunch, wine tastings, and tours. We had such a good time.
I would say it was a perfect weekend. Of course, Sunday night, I had to rush home so I could meet Wyatt. I will have to post pictures of the perfect baby in a separate post.

Happy Birthday Meredith
Meredith, I hope you had a fantastic birthday. I couldn't imagine it and wouldn't want anything different than to have had you you as my sister for all 25 years of your life. (Even though, there may have been times growing up where I displayed my sisterly love in some unusal ways!) You are a great baby sister (not so much a baby anymore) and a wonderful friend. I love you and am having a great time with you this weekend.
Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday Wyatt
Wyatt was born at this morning, October 9. He weighed 8 pounds and 1 ounce and was 20.5 inches long. Ali and Wyatt were doing well when I talked to Ali. Wyatt, I can't wait to meet you. Congrats Mark and Ali on becoming parents!

Mark and Ali's Shower
I'm very late in updating and have been meaning to post pictures. I really don't have an excuse other than being lazy at updating the blog. I tried to get on here to post pictures the other night but it seems that they have updated the site and I'm a little slower at getting the pics to the blog. Tonight, I think I may have finally mastered it. Here are some pictures of the Mark and Ali's shower that were over a month ago. I promised to post them so better late than never.
We had a fabulous time. I owe a big thank you to my wonderful in-laws who came over and helped me prepare the night before. I was very busy the day of the shower. The day didn't start off so good with Tech losing to JMU (I have no more comments to add other than the fact that VT did lose.). Anyways, we (i.e. Matt and I) recovered before the shower and it turned out great.

Fun stuff for Wyatt:
As a thank you, Mark and Ali were so sweet to take us to Maggiano's. They certainly didn't need to do that but I will say that it was delicious and I ate way too much. I'm so glad that the two of them are such close friends of ours. I couldn't be happier for them during this very fun and exciting time in their lives. Hurry up, Wyatt!! I want to meet you.
Just a quick update on Wyatt: He is due to grace us with his presence on Thursday, October 7. I am happy to be an honorary aunt. I talk about him so much already. I already have a call list for once he arrives as my mom and sister need their updates. I have some of the girls at my work asking about Wyatt and Ali, even though they don't know Ali! :-) Ali did have a brief visit in L&D today because her blood pressure was a little high, but luckily her blood pressure went back down and she got to go home. So, I will certainly update the blog once Wyatt arrives but I'm proud that Ali is going to try blogging in her free time (There is all kinds of free time after you have a baby, right?). Anyways, you may find little updates here.
